I worked with it and tested nearly all the functions -- duplicate files, synchronizing, finding text, and lots more. The program worked very well. You've provided good help and the interface is fairly intuitive to use. Even newer users should be able to use the program without problems.   Unlike so many programs I look at, the interface is colorful and even fun in some places. The program also seemed fairly fast considering the number of files I have even on one drive. :-) You've really packed a lot of features into this version.   I think you've done a good job on it.   Michael E. I downloaded it to my work computer and downloaded the listing of a network drive of 17,000 files, first pipe-delimited and then in Excel... I will be sharing these results with colleagues who would have never imagined that it was possible to get these listings. There is no question about the value of Space Hound when you need to get some accounting of storage. I rarely care about duplicate files, though. Since storage is so cheap, we all become better pack rats than organizers. Regardless of how good our intentions begin, we keep tossing stuff over the fence and then have a hard time finding it later. My career has always been involved with analyzing data, so I feel very comfortable once Space Hound provides a feed. This is less so with many of my colleagues. So, I would tell story about how one could extract the metadata with Space Hound, place it into Excel, and use Excel's FINE analytical software to auto filter and pivot for insights. Short historical story.... At my last job with a major textual database distributor, I had one of the people working for me dedicated to analyzing daily receipt of several hundred newspapers. His first step was to acquire metadata using Space Hound. He then used Text Pad for further processing so that we ended up with a relational table to analyze content. Steve Childs

Your program is fantastic.  Most power users hate XP's search - here is simply the best replacement for it - again - not only that - but consider the cost of network storage and 130+ users saving their favorite "joke" .PPS, .AVI's etc.. at a couple of megs each.  It really piles up.  In seconds I have intelligent reports that I can analyze with excel and capture GIG's back on our network servers.  I tried the search by owner - it works great - I also love the fact that you added the ability to search for more than one NT Owner at a time - that is extremely useful to me.  You were absolutely right about Space Hound 4 - you made a great program even better - didn't think it would be possible.  It seems to run faster as well on network searches - very nice - tons of features!” Bruce Sobocinski

This note is by way of a Thank You for your time to reply and solve my problem. I am new to Space Hound 4, and still have to get to study the method of use, but I must say how much I appreciate your lucid explanatory style. It’s refreshing to be guided so clearly and cleanly through the operation of your program. I’m looking forward to using Space Hound 4 primarily in order to rid my home PC of a series of space-extravagant duplications of JPEG files and folders. Some of these must have occurred as my camera-phone synchronized with my PC and repeatedly backed up the same groups of hundreds of photos. Other duplicates were imported on rescue disks from my previously owned PC’s. I’m certain I shall be using it to help maintain my PC in a perfectly tidy state. Thanks again for the great program. I have been involved in computing and using computers since my first Commodore Vic-20 back in the 70's.  Space Hound 4 has got to be one of the top 5 well designed, easy to use, powerful and useful programs I have ever used and I can't wait to try some of your other applications!
