DataPouch -
A
Place to put your Stuff!
An Overview of DataPouch:
As a user, you will create Objects which are
used to represent important, everyday items,
events, or ideas. Each Object you
create will contain information Fields about the
real life object or concept that it represents.
For example: A video tape Object might have a
set of Fields which include
Title, a Subject,
and a Date Filmed
while the electronic equipment Object might have
Fields for Model Number,
Date Purchased, and Serial Number.
Here are just a few examples!
You could have an object which would
represent a piece of electronic equipment. |
 |
A video tape with some cherished home
movies. |
You might assign dozens, even hundreds of
Video Tape Objects, each with it's own store
of information. |
Vehicle Maintenance Records (both historic
and scheduled maintenance in the future). |
 |
To make it easier to get started using
DataPouch, we have
includes several pre-designed Objects for you to
use. The program's power comes from it's ability to let
you design your own Objects.
Once an Object has been created, it is stored
in a Folder.
Folders are represented by this symbol.
Folders in
DataPouch are very similar in
concept to the Folders on your hard
drive. Instead of storing files, you store
Objects.
The image shown to the right shows a
typical Folder Structure where there
are top level Folders with one or
more Sub-Folders nested within
them.
You can expand or contract the Folder
Tree as desired. Folders
can be moved simply by using the mouse to
drag and drop them to their new location.
This method of organization saves you time
by making it easy for you to find your
information when you need it. |

Objects" which have been placed in the Fish
Folder which is stored inside the Facts
Folder. |
|
Object creation as well as numerous other
features are described in detail in the
Screen Capture section. There
you will find numerous pages which will visually step
you through the basic functionality of the program.
Once you have created your objects, you can
use the program's powerful reporting and querying
capabilities to create displays and reports which can
subsequently be printed or exported directly into
Microsoft Excel or
Microsoft Word.
You can use DataPouch
for Business or Home related information
and the program's unique design allows you to do this
all in the same program. You can keep records,
manage inventories, keep notes, track
expenses, and just about anything else you can
imagine.
Please visit Screen Captures
