Using the Search Dialog is easy.
Simply select the tab of the option you wish
to set and make your selections by using the
mouse to point and click..
The initial tab allows you to
select the volume (or volumes) that
you want to search. Unlike the File
Finder in Windows, this design allows you to
select multiple drives without having to
select all of them.
Network drives can also be
searched by the program. One added feature
is that you can use a set of default drives.
This set can be changed at anytime. In
the example below you will see that the
diskette drive (on drive A) is not shown.
For convenience, all of the search
parameters are temporarily saved as you begin the search
process. You can instantly recall the previous set
of criteria and alter it if necessary by adding new
limitations or broadening the search by including
additional drives or directories.
You can also save the current set as a
permanent resource to be used again and again.
You will find additional examples
which will show the features of the Tabbed Search Dialog
by selecting Search 1, Search 2, and Search 3 on the
button tree on the left.
One additional feature on networked
drives (NT and Novell) is the ability to search for
files using the ownership fields.
Note: Novell
specific version priced differently.
