This page will step through an
extremely simple example of how
the tool operates. To start, we will use the Browse Tool to examine a directory called Games. You will see that it contains 6 small files. |
Note: Users should experiment
with this tool before attempting
to run it against their entire
drive because it can be a time
consuming operation. You can also choose to limit the display by selecting only specific file times such as DLLs or EXEs only. |

When the Snap Shot Tool is launched, you are prompted to create a new Snap Shot or to use an existing one.
Since this is the first time that the tool has been used, we will create a new Snap Shot.
Using the same Tabbed Dialog Selection Criteria that is used for all searches in the program, we will select the Games Directory.

Once we depress the Process Search button, the program will gather the information about the Games directory and store it as our base Snap Shot.
