About Excluding Files
In order to speed up processing, you can choose to exclude specific folders from the search process.
Excluded folders can be defined for Duplicate Searches and All Searches. If a folder is set for exclusion for All Searches, it will also exclude the folder during Duplicate Searches as well.
However, an inspection of the set of Excluded Duplicate Search Settings will only show the folders that you actually set.
Examples:
- You add c:\MyFolder\KeepStuff from All Searches. Regardless of the type of search, this folder will be excluded.
- You add c:\MyFolder\KeeyStuff from All Searches and then remove it. Regardless of the type of search, this folder will NOT be excluded.
- You add c:\MyFolder\KeepStuff from All Searches, and then add it to Duplicate Searches as well. If you subsequently remove it from All Searches, it will continue to exclude the folder from Duplicate Searches.
- You add c:\MyFolder\KeepStuff to Duplicate Searches. It will only be excluded during Duplicate Searches.
There is no way to Exclude a folder for All Except Duplicate Searches.
