About Temporary Internet Files
These files are created every time you browse the Internet.
Windows includes a size limiter to keep the combined storage costs to an acceptable value based on the user's preference. However, including them in a search slows down processing, and significantly increases the number of hits on files that are probably meaningless to you and could significantly impact Duplicate File searches based on Content Only.
Space Hound offers specific tools (See Cleanup Common Wasted Space on the main Application is Waiting screen) that allow you to safely purge temporary internet cache files without disturbing saved 'cookie' files which are used to maintain browser settings for frequently used web sites.
You should also consider excluding Temporary Internet Files which belong to other users who use this Computer (See Excluding Folders). The location of each user’s Temporary Internet Files can only be determined by this application when that user is logged on. However, you can set these additional folders for exclusion manually by adding them to the list of Excluded Folders on the Program Options display. Typically, they can be found by browsing the Documents and Settings Folder, selecting each user and looking in the Local Settings Folder.
