 Tutorial - Duplicate Tools - Delete Older Files

Step 1: Starting point for Deleting Older Files.

Step 2: Select the date attribute desired

Step 3: A list is prepared showing the files that would be deleted because it is OLDER than another copy on your system.

General Notes: The net result of performing a deletion such as this is that all files found to be duplicated instances of another file will be sent to the Pending Deletes List as long as they are the same date or older than the one found to be the newest instance. For example, if you have 10 copies of the same file, one dated today and the other 9 dated last week, then all 9 of the older copies will be included in the list. Once processed, you will be returned to the main Duplicate File Search Results Page where you will see that in all instances, the older file has been marked for deletion.

Step 4: Review the Pending Deletes List and select a final disposition.

Some final notes on how Space Hound 4 handles file deletions. Deletion of the wrong files can damage your computer's ability to function.
